What does STEAM mean?

S.T.E.A.M.?  What is that? Maybe you are thinking in a special room full of steam where you can relax, but you are wrong because  this new word comes from  STEAM Education   that according to the Institute For Arts Integration " is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking " ( https://artsintegration.com/what-is-steam-education-in-k-12-schools/)                                  S for Science                                  T for Technology                                  E for Engineering                           ...

The dog that left a deep mark in our hearts

By Laura Sofia Díaz Murcia

Our school has a very special member that arrived 6 years ago. our friend has a part of our hearts. I'm sure that everyday you see him in the school but you don't know his history, so let´s read this article to know who I am talking about.

Our friend arrived to Seminario School from Duitama in the year 2018, he was 2 months old, a parent gave him to the school because he had a dog (Berlin´s mother) and she had 2 puppies, Berlin’s brother and Berlin, so he decided to keep only with one of those little dogs. When he arrived, the school started taking him on school trips.

He already had the name Berlin, the school wanted to name him Max, but once he was lost for 5 days and they couldn't change his name because it would be more difficult to find him, then, a person called because had found him, so they finally named him "Berlin".

At the beginning, Berlin was a little naughty and playful, as a result of this, the comunity collected money to train him for 1 or 2 months more or less, now Berlin is more disciplined; he loves to sleep and play, he sleeps near the main gate on a rug next to the Chapel because he had a little house but he didn’t like it, so the rug is that place to sleep.

In my opinion, Berlin is a very noble and affectionate dog, a little temperamental, but he has become a friend for the children and he loves playing with them. I think he is a very important member in our school community and we all love him, even some of the students express that they feel that Berlin is their own pet.
