What does STEAM mean?

 S.T.E.A.M.?  What is that? Who is Dr. Seuss?

 Something about Dr. Seuss


His real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel and was born on March 2nd of 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts, US. He was a writer and illustrator of immensely popular children's books noted for their nonsense words, playful rhymes and unusual creatures.
After his graduation  from Dartmounth College in 1925, Geisel did postgraduate studies at Lincoln College, Oxford and the Sorbonne and subsequently began to work for Magazines like "Life" and "Vanity Fair", after illustrating a series of humor books, Geisel decided to write a children's books under  his Pen name Dr. Seuss.
His books are written about  different topics such as the deterioration of the environment and the search for one's own identity.
Some of the most popular books are: 
- "And think that I saw it on Mulberry Street" - 1937 (it was his firs published book)
- "The seven Lady Godivas" - 1939 ( his first book for adults)
- "Dr. Seus goes to the war",  compilation of  Second World War cartoons.




- "If I ran the zoo" - 1950
- "Scrambled Eggs Super!" - 1953
- "If I ran the circus" - 1956
- "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" - 1957
- "The cat in the hat" - 1957
- "Green Eggs and Ham" - 1960
- The lorax - 1971
- "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" - 1991 (His last published book)

He died on September 24th of 1991 in La Jolla, California, but his legacy will be with us in the multiple publications of his books, in the theme park in the United States called "Seuss Landing" and in the annual celebration in his honor every March 2nd.
